Ubongo! Classic

You start with 7 pieces with different shapes. One of the players rolls a dice, the sand timer is flipped and the Ubongo round begins. Each player has a different template and the die indicates which pieces you have to use to fill the template. The first to fit all the pieces correctly shouts “Ubongo!” and win the round.

All players must try to fill their figure before time runs out. When one of the players realizes that the hourglass has run out, they must shout "Stop!" and everyone has to stop. The first player to fit all the pieces correctly on their figure takes a blue sapphire from the pool (3 points) and a random gem from the bag. The second person to complete their figure before the timer runs out takes 1 Brown Amber (1 point) and a random gem from the bag. The third and fourth players also each take a random gem from the bag. If there are one or more players who have not been able to fulfill their figures ahead of time, they do not take any gems.

In Ubongo, all players choose a new template from the template pile, roll the dice, and try to finish their figures before time runs out. This game is over after 9 rounds, at which point players proceed to the final count of their gems, calculating the final points. Ubongo includes 36 templates with 432 different combinations, offering hours of gameplay. If no one manages to complete their squad within the time limit, nothing happens and the players have a second chance by going around the hourglass again. This game is perfect to play with the whole family or you can practice alone to sharpen your skills. It is taught very quickly, but you will have to be ingenious to be able to place all the pieces on your board before your companions.
